IOSH No Time to Lose Campaign

Cancer Caused by Work kills 666,000 per year

Cancer is the silent, slow killer of people working across the world and carcinogenic substances people are exposed to at work are one of the biggest causes of avoidable cancer in the UK.

In the UK alone, almost 14,000 new cases of cancer are registered a year - 4000 because of asbestos, and 10,000 linked to exposure from silica dust to diesel fumes.

Asbestos, silica and diesel fumes.

Plumbers, roofers, groundworkers, architects, engineers....

Everyone visiting site runs a risk of being exposed to these substances if they are present.

Everyone then runs a risk of getting lung, skin or bladder cancer through what they do for a living.
