I collaborate with Phil Diamond of Diamond & Co in relation to external wall fire review matters and EWS1 forms.

 

Diamond & Co, based in Scotland, are an established firm of Chartered Surveyors providing full building consultancy services across various sectors throughout the built environment. Started by Philip S. Diamond as a niche Building Surveying and Energy Consultancy Practice, Diamond & Co. have grown to become an established general Building Consultancy which services its client base throughout the UK.

 

Existing Buildings
Phil Diamond specialises in non-intrusive investigations which are not only more cost effective but have the advantage of not causing potential damage to the external building fabric.

 

With intrusive investigations there is also the inherent risk that any repairs or reinstatement after the intrusive investigation has taken place will be weak points for failure with potential water ingress, a risk that was not present before the investigation took place.

 

Where possible Diamond and Co will carry out a survey of all safely accessible elements of the common fabric utilising standard survey equipment and undertake planned exploratory works such as void scoping and metal detection with a handheld wall spectrometer to minimise disruptive works.

 

Buildings under Construction
For buildings under construction we offer a service where we will monitor projects throughout the construction process with the intention of the EWS1 form being available on completion of the works.

 

Professional Indemnity Insurance
Diamond & Co carry PII for EWS1 forms and external wall matters and are able to sign off on both Option A and Option B.
